Wythe with Grand Champion Hybred

Have you ever asked the question "What is a Religion Philosophy and English Major with 27 years experience as a stockbroker doing in the livestock nutritional business?" If you haven't, I can tell you for a fact that I have. Truth of the matter is that I had to do something like this to have available the types of products that I wanted to feed my Toggenburg dairy herd. All that I wanted was to feed my goats and guard dogs the same quality supplements that I took myself. As a matter of fact, I take Gluta-Syn™ myself which is one of their supplements.
Quality supplements for my animals is a far cry from what I had available to me 15 years ago when I got my first dairy goat. I started off right at the top. I fed her rabbit pellets. At least it was full of Alfalfa. My "rabbit" goat was never shown but her progeny have won many championship legs. Her granddaughter, Hybred, is pictured above.
In my past job, as a stockbroker, I had to spend many hours analyzing a company. It seemed natural to use the same approach when studying genetics. Very quickly it became evident that my quality animals needed superior nutrition to reach their full genetic potential. Back to the books. As a result, I am now in the livestock nutrient business and no longer a stockbroker.
I have always been serious when picking a company to invest in or choosing which Togg genes to acquire, just as much effort went into choosing which product to offer in these pages. All of these products have been used in the past or are currently being used in the Springbriar herd. There is only one reason that this is the case -- THEY WORK!

Marian with daughters

Hello! I am Marian Quarles, co-owner of Springbriar. That is me on the left and my two daughters, Kathryn and Jessica.
Kathryn is the youngest. She will graduate from Rocky Mount Senior High School in June 2000 with honors. She is a great artist and swims on the high school team.
Jessica, the oldest, will graduate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in May 2000 with a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication. She teaches swim lessons and works as a model.
I also have four legged children! We raise Toggenburg Dairy Goats and Maremma Guard Dogs. They take a great deal of energy, but it's worth it
In my spare time (ha), I make and sell soap with our goat's milk. I have worked hard to formulate a high quality product. The soap is very smooth and wonderful for your skin. Essential oils are added for fragrance. Some of my favorite smells are Drakar Noir, Tranquil Sleep and Orange.
The farm has added more to my life than I could ever have imagined. I love working with my hands to raise the animals, make my soap and grow my garden. There is definitely something to be said for country living!
